C'è un mese e mezzo per lavorare, o su una speranza (remota, remotissima, utopistica) di prendere un giocatore di impatto vero o di cederlo, toh magari ai Fakers per Gasol e la loro prima scelta 2014, o assieme a JR e Fatton per Nash, 1 mese e mezzo è parecchio tempo, certo mi dimentico che stiamo parlando di cosa farebbe una franchigia seria eh.................

Io onestamente penso che se proprio deve andare via Melo l'unico posto dove ha un senso mandarlo per lui ma anche per noi sono i Clippers.

Lui li con CP3 ed una serie di role players può provare a vincere....noi in cambio potremmo avere un ottimo 4 per ripartire (Griffin) un discreto 3 (Duidley) ed una prima scelta.

Nello scambio poi se fossimo in gamba ci metteremmo dentro anche JR per JJ Reddick e sarebbe perfetto.

Anche se il mio pensiero rimane lo stesso: io Melo lo vorrei a NY per sempre....è impossibile da sostituire un giocatore cosi....ma se proprio deve andare via i Clippers è l'unica vera franchigia con cui confrontarsi

In what has become a sneaky and strange development, of the five-man units that have logged at least 25 minutes and boast a net-positive rating, all five feature Iman Shumpert—three of them with Shump at the small forward slot.

That’s pretty remarkable, considering Shumpert’s statistics have seen drops near across the board since last season.

Amidst debate over whether Carmelo Anthony is better suited to the small or power forward position, Shump—who was actually drafted as a kind of combo point guard back in 2011—may be answering that question by himself.

At 23 years old and with untold upside to his credit, Shumpert’s early regression should reverse. Assuming, of course, that owner James Dolan and—to a slightly lesser extent—Woodson learn how to handle a player whose heart-on-sleeve approach to the game can sometimes be mistaken for oversensitivity.

The game of basketball is as much about people skills as it is performance or productivity. The Knicks—who have a tendency to operate with all the care and warmth of a Soviet prison camp—need to do a better job with the former if they even have a prayer of getting Shumpert back on the latter two’s tracks.

Shumpert ha impatto nonostante i numeri pressochè vicini allo zero. Pensate se mettere su anche qualche numero. Giocatore da recuperare, un altro motivo per cacciare Woodson.

se Melo volesse veramente vincere a tutti i costi lascerebbe dei soldi sul tavolo come han fatto i tre a miami, invece che lasciare new York...x rischiare di perderlo a zero cmq potremmo seriamente cominciare a considerare una sua cessione a febbraio..anche se al momento è l'unico che si salva...
certo, in un mondo ideale i 20 e fischia milioni di stat erano investiti in un play di livello e un paio di role player come si deve, allora si che il piano di emulare dallas dell'anello con melo nel ruolo di dirk sarebbe andato a buon fine...

E mentre Shumpert nonostante numeri di merda resta uno che cmq un minimo di impatto al di là della stats lo ha, abbiamo uno che nonostante numeri di merda scandalosi ha un impatto ancora peggiore rispetto alle crude statistiche

Hoops World – Just how historically awful was Smith’s 2013 postseason? Well, he became just the second player in the last 50 years to appear in at least 10 playoff games and average over 30 minutes per game, yet shoot below 34 percent from the floor. He was also just the third player in league history to attempt at least 65 three-pointers during one postseason and shoot below 27.5 percent from behind the arc and below 73 percent from the free-throw stripe.

The Knicks have lost 10 of the 11 games Smith has played in and his individual numbers are almost inconceivable. The argument could be made that no significant NBA player has played worse. Certainly, no player has been as inefficient. Of the 254 NBA players that have logged at least 200 minutes this season, Smith is the only one shooting below 34 percent from the floor, below 30 percent from three-point territory and below 61 percent from the free-throw stripe.

There are 96 players averaging at least 30 minutes per game and Smith is the only player in the entire league that has a negative Win Share rating (an estimate of the number of wins contributed by a player). Among this group, Smith is also the only player with a PER (Player Efficient Rating) below 10 and true shooting percentage south of 44 percent.

Dating back to the Knicks’ first-round playoff series with Boston, Smith has now played in 19 straight games without once shooting above 46 percent from the floor, which is the longest such streak in the NBA over the last five years.

He has attempted 259 shots over that 19-game span, but has produced just 237 points. This is remarkable, especially when compared directly to his final 19 games of the 2012-13 regular season, when he scored 441 points on 323 FG attempts.

Smith is a true “X-factor” for New York. When he is efficient and effective on the offensive end, it is often a fantastic barometer for his team’s success. Consider this: Since signing with New York in 2012, the Knicks are an incredible 33-4 (.892 winning percentage) in the 37 games in which Smith has shot 50 percent or better from the field.

There are two types of sports fans in this world. There are the analytical nerd types who only judge sports based on statistics. The Sabermetrics nerds in baseball and the PER freaks in the NBA. They need to see the numbers to decide who’s good and who’s bad. Then there are the old school guys who base everything on feel. Watch the guy play with his own two eyes and decide their worth based on what their gut tells them. These guys are convinced the box score is always lying and they site things like clutchness and clubhouse/locker room presence like its a real thing. And a lot of times there are players that look good to one camp while the other group don’t buy it.

JR Smith is not one of those dudes. The stat heads look at all the info Hoops World just put out there, and they agree, JR Smith is a disaster. The old basketball souls watch him run around the court with literally no idea what he’s doing and they agree too, JR Smith is a disaster. I’m not really knocking the Knicks for signing him. You can’t blame him. There wasn’t any other moves to be made really. JR Smith was coming off a career year. He was the 2nd option on a 2 seed. But JR Smith has always been a feast or famine kinda guy and these days its all famine. Just like everything with the Knicks from last season, the clock struck midnight and the carriage has turned back into a pumpkin. From 6th Man of the Year to like 360th Man, JR Swish.

E' un articolo di qualche settimana fa, ma non è che siamo migliorato come numeri chissà di quanto, ma soprattutto lo schifo assoluto che sta facendo va ben oltre i numeri!!!

Se Melo andasse via, cosa che onestamente neanche io mi auguro (però ci vuole un'altra star di carisma possibilmente un play), dobbiamo quantomeno infilare in questa trade uno tra JR o magari Stat, in modo da poter ricostruire in anticipo. Penso però, meglio ho la vaga sensazione che casualmente lo prenderemo in culo...

Io sarei anche per perderlo e per ricostruire con calma...se non fossimo a New York. Finchè quei 3 la sono a Miami e il ginocchio di Wade continua a reggere, che cazzo vogliamo fare? E' il momento migliore per ripartire da zero. basa inseguire le star, basta inseguire date future (2015, chissà quanto oltre poi), basta prendere la stella in uscita perchè ci fa vincere subito. Ma dove? Miami a parte, è evidente che non si può vincere così.
Prendiamoci un paio d'anni per ripartire dal nulla - tanto perdere per perdere, almeno risparmiamo- valorizziamo i giovani (Tyler, Murray, Shump, Hardaway) e prendiamo chi ci serve, non chi ci "dovrebbe" portare al titolo con uno schiocco di dita. Melo, che per inciso è l'unico decente qui, l'unico che meriti di restare, l'unico che merita rispetto, non mi pare il giocatore con cui vincere. Non così, non a 130 milioni, non qui.
Non possiamo essere i Pacers per una volta invece dell'Inter?

Il senso è che se a Melo interessasse davvero vincere, non esce dal contratto quest'anno, diventa free agent nel 2015 quando abbiamo il cap svuotato completamente a parte Felton e JR che hanno player option (che cerco di cedere a costo di regalarli)..
Allora lì fai le cose x bene cercando di pescare i vari Rondo, Love, Aldridge, Gasol, chi meglio si integra con Melo, avendo nel frattempo sviluppato Shump e Tim Jr...l'importante è avere un core di 8/9 giocatori validi, con 2/3 capisaldi (x dire, Melo, Rondo, Tyson) poi il resto, se c'è un sistema che funziona, lo trovi via draft o in giro...Guardiamo gli Spurs che da 12 anni girano giocatori intorno a Tim-Manu-Tony...
Se Melo firma la maxi estensione quest'anno, son cazzi xk ci ingolfa il cap in maniera considerevole in ottica 2015 e oltre...
Poi attenzione, questa squadra ha gli stessi 7/8 dell'anno scorso quando ha vinto 60 partite coi playoff eh, non può essere passata da prime 5 a terz'ultima della lega, è impossibile, soprattutto in questo Est derelitto...la squadra vale molto di + della sua attuale posizione, se finalmente rientrassero tutti e Woodson si svegliasse possiamo ancora recuperare e fare i playoff..
Certo, con un probabile 9-24 è dura, ma abbiamo l'obbligo di provarci fino alla fine...

Discreto primo quarto.

26-25 per noi con un produttivo Iman (ben 10 per lui).

Dietro due o tre difese pornografiche ma per il resto si tiene...

In meno di 4 minuti del secondo quarto ci spazzano letteralmente via....la difesa del p&r di stat ormai è incommentabile...

Cmq porco cazzo è una cosa incredibile le percentuali che hanno gli avversari contro di noi da tre....a volte per colpe ns...a volte meno...ma cmq sono incredibili.

Beh....ricuciamo tutto lo svantaggio e siamo avanti di 2.

Ottimo Iman, buonissimo Melo al rientro e bravo anche Murry.

Anche la difesa sale di livello...ma quello che si sta vedendo stasera è ciò che chiediamo da mesi, ovvero EFFORT.

Iman sta giocando una partita favolosa: 16 + 4 rimbalzi 2 rubate ed un assist ed una superdifesa.

Melo 14+6+2 assist e 6/9 dal campo veramente eccellente.

JR il peggiore insieme a Stat...ma sono cose tristemente note.

Il +5 a metà gara è strameritato.

Ora ovviamente arriveranno gli adeguamenti di POP e ci romperanno il culo...ma per ora una delle migliori partite giocate (sopratutto visto il livello dell'avversario).

Resistiamo a +5 rispondendo colpo su colpo per ora....

Il problema è Belinelli...non sta vedendo la Madonna...ma anche tutti i santi del paradiso cazzo...

21 punti con 9 su 10 dal campo e 3 su 3 nelle triple....ha messo anche due tiri forzatissimi con ottima difesa ns....che rabbia cazzo.

Continuiamo a giocare bene, la palla gira e prendiamo quasi sempre discreti tiri.

+10 a 4 minuti dalla fine del terzo quarto....

...e finalmente Belinelli sbaglia un tiro....
